Overture Keyword Suggestion Tool |
Allows you to
view how often people search for a specific term through
Yahoo Search Engine. The higher the number the more
searches for it and hopefully more potential traffic for
your domain.

Google |
Most new
domainers rely on google to figure out good domain names.
Please remember it's a good starting point, but that's about
it. Just search for your keywords and see the number
of pages that you get back. Please look through the
pages as the keywords may be used in a totally different way
then what you want the site for. Always use quotes
when searching for multiple keywords. For example
"plasma TVs" this returns only those pages with those words
together. |
|
Registers |
It's always
useful to see if the domain name your interested in is sold
out in the major .TLD's. Usually these are considered
.com, .net, .org, possibly .info, .us or other country
TLD's.

Another
good tool for checking real world name usage is
Switchboard.com. If you enter a word there it
will return a list of businesses that incorporate the word
in their name, complete with their address and phone number!
That can be useful if you want to try cold calling to market
your domain names, though I have never found that to be an
effective means of selling domains. We’ll talk about what is
effective a bit later in this article.
